L'abitacolo è rimasto stabile nell'impatto frontale. Buona protezione delle ginocchia e femori del conducente e passeggero. Tuttavia, il piantone dello sterzo e la fine della plancia sono stati posti in una zona a rischio e possono procurare lesioni agli occupanti: è per questo motivo, quindi,  che il punteggio è stato penalizzato. Il Berlingo ha segnato il massimo dei punti nella prova di barriera laterale, con buona protezione di tutte le regioni del corpo. Un airbag torace di impatto laterale e un airbag di tenda-protezione della testa sono entrambi disponibili come opzione, ma non sono stati montati sul veicolo di prova.

The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal impact. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. However, the steering column and its lock, and the end of the facia were posed a risk of injury to occupants of different sizes and to those sat in different positions and the score was penalised. The Berlingo scored maximum points in the side barrier test, with good protection of all body regions. A side impact thorax airbag and a head-protecting curtain airbag are both available as an option but were not fitted to the test vehicle. As the curtain airbag is not standard equipment a pole test was not performed. Protection against whiplash injury in a rear-end collision was rated as marginal for both the front and rear seats.
