Mazda Mourns the Loss of Matthew Tomilo

It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden death of Matthew Tomilo, Chief Financial Officer of Mazda Motor Europe. Emergency medical staff were unable to revive Mr. Tomilo, and he sadly passed away on 24 May 2013.

 “Our entire company is shocked and saddened by this terrible news,” said Jeff Guyton, President and CEO of Mazda Motor Europe. “Matt will be greatly missed both as an outstanding professional and as a great friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in the US, and the friends he has made around the world. It was our great privilege to know him and work side by side.”

Matthew Tomilo was born on 4 September, 1964 in Lorain, Ohio, United States of America. After obtaining his MBA at the University of Michigan he held various positions in Ford Motor Company before joining Mazda Motor Europe in September, 2006. He was appointed CFO in March, 2009. A memorial service for Matt is planned in Cologne, Germany in June 2013.
