MINI F55 5-door caught undisguised, Clubman rendered

-->
With the market launch of the new MINI F56 in March 2014, the British automaker begins refreshing its line up. The classic three-door hatchback will be followed by the F55 five-door, F54 Clubman, and the F57 Convertible.
An F55 prototype was spied on the tarmac in Amsterdam most likely bound for an overseas flight. The F55 five-door retains the short rear doors which offer convenient use of the back seat as a storage area or for passenger use.
The market launch for the Clubman will most likely occur this fall

Technically, the five-door variant of the F56 is hardly different from the three-door, although some sources speak of a marginally longer wheelbase – thanks to the flexible BMW UKL platform.  While the MINI F56 has typical British-upright-standing lights with thick chrome border, the F54 MINI Clubman could come in 2015 with transverse rear lights, as seen in the rendering below. The Clubman has larger proportions, similar to the Countryman which allows for 2+3 style seating.
Heart of the drive are the new BMW three-cylinder engines with turbocharging, which come in Cooper and Cooper D models. Only the MINI Cooper S and the following John Cooper Works and Cooper SD will continue to focus on four-cylinder engines.
In addition to the fuel-efficient engines, the new MINI also offers ultra-modern assistance systems and infotainment package that ranges from the Head-Up Display to the Parking Assistant and Active Cruise Control with automatic distance regulatio
